Experience the Transformative Power of the Holy Spirit

At the first Pentecost, believers in Jesus were filled with the Spirit of the Risen Lord—a divine fire that ignited the Church and poured forth into the world (see Acts 2). This is the promise of every Pentecost: a fresh outpouring of grace, renewal, and mission.

This year, the Carmelite Friars at Boars Hill, Oxford, and team invite you to join them to prepare to enter more deeply into the mystery of Pentecost through reflecting on the seven sacraments— each one a gift of the Holy Spirit – empowering us to live our Christian calling to the full.

Sample Reflection

Confirmation – Sealed with the Spirit’s Power

"While Baptism makes us children of God, Confirmation ... enlists us in the mission of drawing all into the unity of the Holy Spirit."

In this retreat, we’ll reflect on how Confirmation is not just a one-time event but a lifelong commissioning—an ongoing Pentecost in our lives. How do we stay attuned to the Spirit’s fire? How does the Spirit call us to apostolic courage, like the first disciples? ...
